Over hill, over dale

Day 14: another day of scenic beauty, and after an initial light shower, weather to match. Dales were much in evidence: we began in Miller's Dale, walked up Monks Dale, Peter Dale and Hay Dale (all the same valley but different sections), over Bradwell Moor - reaching our highest point to date for the third day in a row (471m, 1545') - and descending the stunning Cave Dale into the Hope Valley. No communication devices were mislaid, lunch baps got 5-star reviews, and apart from Paul's knees and Neville's blisters, the crew was in fine fettle. Speaking of which, Nathan has overtaken Neville in terms of time spent foot-fettling (or foot-faffing as some unkind soles seem to call it), in search of a comfort that remains elusive. Sadly our last day walking with the lovely Chadwick family, although they have another 24 hours of us cluttering up their house, as we have a rest day tomorrow. Lucy, champion recruiting officer, added 90 human walker-miles to the MNDA cause (To Say Nothing Of The Dog), Ben gave us a geography lesson in Terracettes (apparently not a girl band but a soil formation found on steep hills), Nathan gave us lifts and a lesson in keeping track of one's phone, and we're looking forward to Dave's chilli tomorrow.

Track of the Day is 'Over hill, over dale', which reflects both the geography and the lightness of our spirits as we look forward to a day without boots on.
